TWO YEARS AFTER IT BOUGHT the outfit, it looks like HP is planning to close Voodoo as a separate company.
According to an e-mail which is apparently being circulated throughout Voodoo, the HP axeman is starting to hack into staff lists.
The number of people to be culled is unclear, but Voodoo didn’t have a lot of staff and layoffs will significantly prevent the outfit doing much.
Recently Voodoo has been returning components to suppliers, such as Topower, their provider of power supplies.
Techgage said that Topower has received over 300 of its supplies back but that is three months' worth of gear for Voodoo’s Omen desktop machines.
Voodoo founder Rahul Sood has become part of the furniture at HP's Gaming and Luxury Operations unit and has helped it develop the Blackbird 002. Shutting Voodoo makes sense now that HP has drained the outfit of what it wants.
Rahul is quoted as saying that HP is working on a plan to better use its existing resources to bring Voodoo products to market faster and make them more accessible to consumers. Voodoo employees and champions of the brand will continue to work on the design and development of Voodoo products, he said.
Looks Voodoo will end up as a brand of HP. µ

I have waited for this demise. Voodoo could not survive selling pretty poc's at snobby high prices. I'm happy now.
I never forgot. Signed , a burnt customer
Hey Karlha where are you? Is everyone retiring?

Seems Voodoo sold 1,000 computers yearly & at say $2,ooo profit each, 2 million $ operation.
Very good for person, Not so hot for major multinational that spent billions to buy VooDoo.

HP just isn't company likely to Bed Well with Voodoo. HP uses cheap, stripped parts, while Voodoo needs best of todays world that Will Interface correctly in one box.

that comment made me laugh so hard here in the office!!
Sad,

HP buys a company, then drains it of it's resources as a separate company, then turns it into it's "Gaming and luxury PC Division". HP as a company is just a Vampire. Maybe my Compaq PC should be called the "Vampire Victim model 02".
