Lindows scores huge Wal-Mart win

No Windows, just Lindows

MICROSOFT'S FAILURE TO SQUASH the Lindows operating system has led to further humiliation for the software giant.

Newsforge points to this Wal-Mart site which is offering a total of eight different PCs ranging from $599 down using the upstart operating system.

Microsoft had attempted to squish Lindows because the word was too close to Windows but a judge ruled earlier this year that that was out of line.

The Microtel systems come with a mix of Intel and AMD processors and as Wal-Mart is, shall we say, quite big - this is probably the biggest wedge yet into Microsoft's hitherto iron solid market share. µ
