Will first Savaje handset come from LG?

Don't quote me on that

ANYONE WHO HAS seen the Savaje OS being demonstrated running on a mobile handset cannot fail to be impressed. So why is there still no commercially available handset?

The INQ put this question to Savaje @ 3GSM Cannes and our source poignantly handed us a Press release date December 6th in which LG promised to use Savaje in a handset during 2005. So LG will be first out then? "You can't quote me on that," he replied. So that's a Yes, then. It also seemed strange that Savaje could be demonstrated on a Sagem/Mitel Mio but no such product can be purchased as yet.

Anyway, if Savaje is to be believed then a whole of Java apps will run on its handsets. And that's without any modification whatsoever.

The INQ saw a 3D game of American Pool working very happily away on a prototype handset. Apparently only Java apps written to utilise proprietary extensions created by handset vendors like Nokia, won't run without modification.

Savaje aim to attack the mid tier sub $50 build price sector with its products. Let's hope they can make it.
