INQ thrashes BBC, Rogister in Intel pub quiz

Old farts in blue's band
Wednesday, 28 November 2007, 11:00

FOUR OLD LUSHES from the INQ failed to win a notebook for our favourite charity [us? Ed.] at an Intel pub quiz last night, but despite the innate overwhelming disadvantages we had, parked in a dark corner behind a metal curtain, we managed to come joint second.

Lord Bostoon of Barking, Prince Hales of Dunstabubble, the Veitchmeister and Mageek might each and severally have been several sheets to the wind, but the INQ put paid to the massed ranks of techies by managing to fill in several sheets of paper with a high proportion of the answers korrect. Even though our corner was pitch black.

Your trusty [shorely rusty, hacks] were flummoxed by questions about Coronation Street and we were forced into a tie break for second place with some yoofs from UK Gamer which we duly lost. First place went to the Mail on Sunday, whatever that is, but the old farts of the INQ put paid to the massed ranks of The Rogister, Trusted Reviews, PC Pro and the like, showing amazing flair at answering questions about sesquiquadratic angles on an octagon.

Here is Intel's score card:

1. Mail on Sunday 48 points
2. UK Gamer 47 points
3. The Inquirer 47 points
4. T3 46 points
5. PC Pro 46 points
6. Webuser 45 points
7.The Rogister 44 points
8. BBC 44 points
9. Team Odds and Ends 40 points
10. Mad.co.uk 36 points
11. Stuff 35 points
12. Quiz on my Face 35 points
13. Trusted Reviews 31 points

Second prize would have been an Iphone but all of us refuse to have such trinkets in our pockets. A good time was had by all. We think. Well done those boys! ยต

What is this crap?

You are sad. The mere smell of alcohol is enough to put you techy geeky freaks on yer back.

Dan...

I've been drinking with the Mageek. It takes more than "the mere smell" to put him on his back.

Oh bollocks...

...let the lads have some fun, will ye? It's nice to have something light and filled with humour in betwixt all the serious and earnest meanderings of daily work. Sometime, a touch of random can be good.

RE: What is this crap?

Give it a rest Dan, there's no harm in having something 'light' on the inq... Well I don't mind anyway.

This is quality stuff

Great read. Everyday I come home from work mentally exhausted and quickly fire up INQ on my trusty firebadger. And an article like this is the one I am looking for everyday to freshen me up. Overall quality website.
