President fired, CEO resigns
Wednesday, 11 October 2006, 14:50
THE CEO AND chairman of McAfee and the firm's president have left the company following an investigation into stock options.

George Samenuk, the CEO, quit while president Kevin Weiss was fired, said the Wall Street Journal.

Samenuk said he resigned after six years in the best interests of the company and its shareholders. He said he regretted the stock options affair happened while he was boss.

McAfee will have to restate its financial results as a result over a 10 year period with estimates saying the charges might amount to as much as $150 million.
