Dramurai set to make losses in second quarter

DRAMatic turn of events as memory fails
Wednesday, 4 July 2007, 11:51
MEMORY MARKET watcher DRAM Exchange said it's likely a number of manufacturers will turn in losses for the second calendar quarter as the outlook is not bright on DIMM prices.

Spot prices of memory modules continue to decline and the market demand is not strong enough to rescue the prices of DIMMs, said DRAM Exchange.

The outlook may be better in Q3 but only enough for the Dramurai, the memory manufacturers, to break even.

But prices of NAND flash are set to rise because of Apple's Iphone launch and the release in upgraded Ipods in Q3. ยต
