DESPITE GETTING wage rises above inflation, IT workers are still septic about the amount of cash they are getting.

According to a Network World Salary survey, wages increased by about 11.6 per cent on average.

The 1,789 respondents to this year’s salary survey, conducted with the help of research firm King, Brown & Partners, felt they were not getting enough dosh for what they were doing.

One of the biggest areas they were disappointed with was bonuses and stock options.

Network World thinks that IT workers do not believe they are getting rewarded for doing a good job but as a joke HR style perk.

The survey indicates that if something is not done soon, IT workers might simply bugger off do something more satisfying like joining a commune in Northern India.
