INQ overclocks OCZ FLEXX DDR 2 to 1280MHz

Early INQpression Stable, rocking EVGA 680i breaks record

HOW DOES PI in 17 or 18 seconds sound? Well, that's what we got with FLEXX PC2-9200 memory overclocked to 1280MHz.

We wrote about this memory last Friday here and this is what we achieved over the weekend.

We used Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 CPU at its default 2.66GHz and got 18 seconds and, once you overclock the FSB, you can get seventeen. The FSB on the screenshot worked at 1066 while we used 5-5-5-18 memory settings.

The best of all is that it doesn't need water or air cooling. We increased the voltage to 2.4 V - still covered by OCZ's lifetime warranty - and the machine was stable at even 1280MHz. We are not aware that anyone got more than 1200 before.

With water cooling or active fan maybe we can go even more than that but this is what we managed. Even the PI at 32MB was stable with 2.4 voltage and 1280MHz settings.

Stay tuned the full-scale review and much more scores coming shortly but till then enjoy the screen shots.
