Sarkozy hires Internet spy
NICOLAS SARKOZY has managed to outrage the French public yet again, this time by hiring a 24 year-old “cyber spin doctor” to monitor the Internet for slurs on the President.
According to the Daily Torygraph, 24 year old Nicolas Princen, who had already worked for Mr Sarkozy during his electoral campaign, is a graduate of a top French university. He was hired to act as "a sort of Internet early warning system, surveying everything that is making a buzz regarding the president". Thereby allowing Sarkozy’s advisors to be able to counter any cyber attacks on his honour quickly.
Sarkozy knows he needs all the help he can get, with embarrassing footage of his drunken G8 press conference speech, derisive and offensive remarks to a citizen who refused to shake his hand and angry arguments with French workers doing the rounds daily on Youtube. There are hundreds of blogs and sites which ridicule the unpopular president. But now bloggers are worried that, by employing Princen, who’s job an Elysee advisor describes as being “in charge of monitoring what is circulating on the Web about the president of the republic: blogs, news sites, videos”, their basic freedom of speech is being curtailed.
French bloggers are currently having a field day on Sarkozy’s “KGB web” tactics, and venting their anger about what they see as his little Internet spy or “Sarkozy’s little cop”. Frankly though, with the amount of mortifying satire, bad press and Youtube videos for young Princen to delve through, we reckon he has his work cut out. µ

So what, the bloggers are mad that Sarko is going to listen to them, and find out what the public thinks about him and about his policy positions?

I guess this will be an even bigger tantrum than if Sarko announced that he would NOT be listening to them.

A french blogger was arrested earlier today on the orders of Sarkozy's Internet monitoring department, after having called the president a "dictatorial prat" and an "imbecilic moron".

He was charged with revealing state secrets.

After the leak of state secrets the president released his plan for a Great Wall of Sarkozy to protect the citizens of France from cyber terroist attacks against him.

We would love to give more details about this plan but unfortually the president was to drunk to be fully understood properly.
He will not be president of France for a long time. French people have better memory than Americans ;-)
