Microsoft alpha male threw toys out of pram, claim

Or chairs, whatever
Saturday, 3 September 2005, 11:21
GOOGLE FILED a report with a court that the defection of former Microsoft employee Kai-Fu Lee to the search giant caused Vole CEO Steve Ballmer to go incandescent with rage and get really up in arms.

Microsoft alleges that Kai-Fu Lee breached his conditions of employment by taking a job with Google to manage expansion into China.

According to a statement by another former Microsoft employee to a court, when he said he was going to Google, Steve Ballmer swore like a trooper, and threw a chair around the office.

But Ballmer, according to the Wall Street Journal, described that witness statement as an exaggeration and inaccurate.

When Steve Ballmer speaks softly, his voice booms. So if he did raise his voice and go truly incandescent and up in arms, there's little doubt that people in the Aleutian Islands would probably have heard it. Unless his office is soundproof, that is. µ
