Zeus claims fastest Web server score ever

Rhea world benchmarks, Hercules unchained

BRITISH FIRM Zeus Technology claimed its Web Server product has smashed the record for SPECweb99_SSL scores.

The firm said that it had scored 9,060 - which it claims is over twice as fast as its nearest competitor, IBM's Apache implementation.

The benchmark ran on a 16-way HP Integrity RX8620, said Zeus.

The firm said that it has also scored 21,000 with its software running on an IBM Eserver P series 690HPC.

By contrast, said Zeus, the fastest SPECWeb99 score running on MS IIS is only 8,001. It claims no SPECWeb99_SSL scores for IIS have ever been submitted. µ

Any benchmark?

Here is a benchmark showing them all:

http://dsec.com/imgs//gwan-lighttpd-nginx-cherokee.png

And the source code to make the test (and the charts) is available here:

http://dsec.com/source/ab.c.txt

Result:

1. g-wan
2. lighttpd
3. cherokee (too weak in the high concurrencies)
4. iis
5. nginx
6. apache

As the Zeus license forbids tests...

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
