Macbooks turned into useless bricks

Update causes problems
Wednesday, 21 November 2007, 08:44

A THREAD on Apple support forums has revealed frustrated people who installed an update unable to get their machines working.

Apple advises people that they should hesitate before re-installing the Mac OS but in line with the religion of Saint Steve Jobs, an article here says people can't "re-bless" a previous systems folder.

Some people have attempted to do just that but there's no blessing and lots of cursing instead.

The discussion starts here. ยต

fixed

I was able to fix my macbook with the procedure here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1245111&tstart=30

To get at Terminal and Disk Utility go to 'Utilities' on the installer menubar.

I wonder why apple kept the update live after so many problems?

Perfection?

And here was me thinking that Macs were perfect.

Looks like I will be sticking to my highly reliable Dell box.

which one?

The article fails to mention that this update is for those who are still running Tiger. Those running Leopard have experienced no issues with their recent update.

So...

How does this differ from usual? I thought they were already useless and as heavy as bricks anyway ;p
