Radeon 9600 Pro and Geforce FX 5600 Ultra in GFX face off

What's happening, exactly? It's probably "fear of Intel"

WE WERE TOLD here at CeBIT that ATI is playing again with its RV350 a bit more since it learned that NV31 aka FX 5600 PRO might finish things faster than the just-reviewed-around the-web FX 5600 Ultra.

According to previous plans and clocks from ATI we heard that FX5600 was actually a bit faster but still the boards are extremely close to each other, speedwise...

Both of the cards won't arrive until at least four weeks down the road, so there is still some room for tuning, and birds cheeped at us at CeBIT that ATI could tweak-it-up, pretty easily.

Nvidia and its partners are now starting to say that mainstream and performance is all that matters - and forget the high end, so FX5600 should fill the gap in that win-win situation.

Radeon 9500 PRO according to our friends at Hexus that got access to Nvidia technology and tested FX 5600 Ultra say that the Radeon 9500 Pro is definitely "killing" Nvidia's new part.

The Radeon 9500 Pro is not as cheap to produce, but still it seems ATI partners cannot get enough, with demand greater in supply.

This card will make an entree into the market in four to six weeks, apparently. µ
