Buy yourself some hot friends

The Everywhere Girl could have new role
Tuesday, 27 February 2007, 08:26
A WEBSITE has been formed to overcome that problem that users of social networking sites suffer from, a total lack of friends.

According to the New York Times, social networking sites with large boxes to allow for friends to register on your website fail to realise that most of the people who are on such sites in the first place is because they don't have many friends. This is getting more crucial as employers are starting to look at individuals' websites as a measure of their sociability.

Now an outfit called FakeYourSpace.com offers users of MySpace.com a bunch of interesting and attractive friends who will stick their details on your site for cash.

EnterFakeYourSpace.com, a business founded by Brant Walker, will hire your a friend for about 99 cents a month.According to the Times the idea has hit a snag recently because it uses stock photography of people to provide its base. iStockPhoto.com, is complaining that its licensing agreement did not allow Web sites to post photos that might lead the average person to "think that the model endorses" the product, Web site or person in question.

You guessed it, somewhere on Myspace there are people who have the Everywhere Girl listed as their friend. Of course their other friends would realise this if they could look her up on Wikipedia, but the online encyclopedia does not think such a service is worthy of its high minded ideals.

Walker is searching for models through agency and online auditions to replace those that had been provided by iStockPhoto, which was recently purchased by Getty Images. More here. ยต
