First R600 water-cooler spotted

REPLACING DIFFERENT types of fan with a couple of water cooling pipes keeps the system far cooler than air. And silently too.

Anyhow, in a somewhat weird set of circumstances, we managed to get a hold of two pictures of a water-block for the just-launched Radeon HD 2900XT.

We tracked down the manufacturer of these blocks, Ybris, and found they come from Italy.

Ybris used Jetway Radeon HD 2900XT boards to design and create the first R600 water-blocks we have seen.

In the world of watercooling, small is beautiful.

Actually, the thing that heats up the most on a R600 board is the GPU itself. Memory practically does not need to be cooled. If you are able to cool this GPU well, a lot of nice things can happen. µ
