Google adding more to slideshows

Another upgrade for G-men's Presentations
Fri Jan 25 2008, 09:05

EVEN WITH its stock price taking a bit of a battering, Google still has several squillion dollars squirreled away so it’s no surprise that it is developing the Docs family of web-based apps at warp speed.

In 2008, it’s the Presentations module that is being lavished with love, affection, long hours and developer tools. Only launched late last year, the G-men topped up capabilities in early January.

Now, it is sliding in more Presentations features, namely: The ability to save as PDF; printing multiple slides on one page and
vector shapes for adding graphics to slideshows.

OK, so it can’t compete with PowerPoint, one of Microsoft’s most loved programs, but having a web slideshow program makes sense for serial presenters, at least in case of a problem with accessing your own PC. µ
