Motorola to split itself in two

Goodbye Moto
Wed Mar 26 2008, 14:34

ONE WHOLE can make two wholes according to Motorola which plans to split itself into a mobile device maker and a broadband and mobility company, whatever one of those is.

The handset division of Motorola accounts for about half its revenues but is losing money so the best thing to do is separate it into a standalone business the firm decided.

CEO Greg Brown said that a search for a CEO for the loss making standalone handset company has started.

Motorola shareholders will be given shares in the new companies and investors reacted well to the news. µ
