Mon Sep 11 2006, 19:28
INTEL CONFIRMED THE European Commission extended its antitrust case to include a case involving Media Markt which first emerged in July in the Financial Times.

An EU commissioner , Jonathan Todd, claimed Intel had been pressuring Media Markt not to sell PCs that include AMD chips.

An Intel rep said: "This is pretty much related to what happened in July. The EC has decided to include this in its broader case."

He said that Intel would continue to cooperate with the EU and it believed its business practices were fair and competitive.
