Microsoft starts Operation Fair Play

Reseller programme aimed at pirates
Tue Feb 13 2007, 09:51
SOFTWARE FIRM Microsoft has introduced a programme dubbed Operation Fair Play which is aimed at kicking pirates in the goolies.

According to resellers invited into the programme, counterfeit software continues to flood the UK market.

"Every time somebody buys pirated software, a legitimate reseller or system builder loses out," Microsoft said. "Whether it's downloaded from the web, acquired from CDs or activated using non-legitimate keys, pirated software means lost sales for resellers and system builders."
