Monday, 8 August 2005, 11:40
MAYBE IT'S JUST a coincidence, but ever since m'learned fiends sent out subpoenas from AMD, we seem to be seeing ever more big Opteron boxes from vendors.

The latest to come to our notice is the Acer Altos G5350, which can support up to four cores, has native RAID 0,1 support using dual Ultra 320 SCSI, up to eight hot swap hard disk drives, supports 16GB of memory, and hot swap power supply, as well as integrated Gigabit Ethernet.

Acer claims its Altos offers "best in class performance" and has the ability to "run tomorrow's 64 bit applications". ยต
