The super soar away Sun has dubbed the attackers 'happy slappers' which is sure to discourage them.
The Sun said that there have been 100 incidents in London alone, leading to eight charges. Apparently it all started out as a schoolkids' prank which was causing a pain to teachers, according to Sun rival, the Mirror.
But now the Sun claims it has escalated into more serious assaults - including fly-kicking strangers' spines - and robberies.
However, how common is it? We googled to find evidence of this assault and battery recorded and couldn't find anything other than a lot of pr0n. It seems to be a bit daft posting a picture of yourself on the Internet committing a crime and then hoping to get away with it. Isn't that why UK council's spent millions on CCTV cameras?
