Nvidia ships Professional 3000 chips

SNAP still crackles and pops

GRAPHICS FIRM Nvidia said it has started shifting its Nforce Professional 3000 chipsets, aimed at AMD machines.

The firm said the Professional 3600 is for enterprise machines and includes support for PCI Express, Gigabit Ethernet, S-ATA 3Gb/s and legacy IO.

The 3050 as well as the 3060 can be scaled to 56 or more PCI-Express lanes, and can support X16, X8, X4 and X1 PCIe links.

The 3400 is aimed at 1P servers and workstations and can support up to six S-ATA 3Gb/s drives as well as SLI configurations. ยต

* THE FIRM said the chipsets will be used Sun Fire X2100M2, X2200 M2, rhe Sun Fire X4600, the Sun Blade 8000 and the Sun Ultra 20 M2 workstations.
