A READER POINTS out that Scaldera (sic) must have changed its mind about the General Public Licence pretty damn quick.

See SCO to argue General Public Licence invalid.

Our reader notes that we said there: "The GPL licence allows software and work derived from it to be copied by anyone at no charge."

And he says that Scaldera is saying much the same thing.

"A similar text can be found in the Linux kernel. I found it in linux-2.5.35. The file usr/src/linux/net/ipx/af_ipx.c says:

" * Portions Copyright (c) 1995 Caldera, Inc. * Neither Greg Page nor Caldera, Inc. admit liability nor provide * warranty for any of this software. This material is provided * "AS-IS" and at no charge."

No charge. K'ching! µ
