Corsair shows off 2.0GHz 4GB kits

Computex 08 Big and fast

CORSAIR WAS SHOWING two new 4G DDR3 memory kits at Computex. Both are higher end parts, one really high, the other a bit higher than that even.

Corsair DDR3/2000 memory

The first one was a demo of a 4GB DDR3 kit, 2x 2GB DIMMs running at 2.0GHz. This will be the frequency on the box, not an 'overclockable to' spec. These parts will be available soon, but no official times or prices yet. An educated guesstimate would be $600 or so, but that depends on the whims of the RAM pricing gods.

The other 4GB kit is roughly the same thing but in 1.6GHz form. It is officially out now, and will sell for about half the price of the 2GHz parts, $300. I would buy two 1.6 kits and see if I could get them to run at 2.0, with Corsair memory, that isn't much of a long shot.

Last up, one final housekeeping to note. The 1000W PSU we told you about at CeBIT is finally out. As you can see above, it will power a high-end PC with three GPUs fairly easily, so it should be good enough for your rig. µ
