Kids' stuff

MICROSOFT HAS NOT heard the marketing maxim "never mention the opposition". This week a senior bigwig attacked the PS3 has having nothing useful and now another top Vole has dismissed Nintendo's Wii console as a "child's toy".

John Rodman, group product manager for the Xbox platform and Xbox Live, told the New York Times that the Wii is essentially for children. He claimed that the Xbox 360 was for serious gamers.

Rodman said that the Wii punter and the Xbox customer were not same thing. When the Wii customer turns 14 they want something else, he said.

According to Rodman, six out of ten Xbox 360 owners use Xbox Live which shows how serious they are. None of them would ever stick a haddock in their ears, or dance up and down shouting like a loony No way. µ
