AMD 65 nanometre parts are with OEMs

Swimming the channel in Q1

OUR INFORMATIVE sources confirmed that AMD has already been shipping them 65nm parts for the second week now.

Of course I am talking about some component OEMs who already have their hands on these CPUs. These chaps are now fiddling with the first ones.

It is the nature of the business that retail and etail won't see any 65 nanometre CPUs before 2007. We are talking about desktop parts only.

Folk buying 65 nanometre CPUs before Q1 2007 had better have their nanometers ready to check the thickness of any delivered in the meantime. They're likely to be 90 nanometre parts in disguise.

As for Q1 2007 for etail and retail stuff, you have to be aware that this can easily mean later than January but we cannot get you more precise date than Q1 2007.

If you buy an HP or Dell AMD machine there is a good chance that you might get a 65 nanometre part. µ
