Microsoft develops mind reading tool

Thinking about the Ace of Spades right?
Wednesday, 17 October 2007, 17:53

SOFTWARE magician Microsoft has developed a device that it claims can read your mind.

According to New Scientist magazine, the Vole has developed a way of reading data straight from your brain using EEGs.

The problem with using EEGs as a method of data gathering is that when you blink, scratch yourself, or think of beer, you screw up the brain signal.

Volish boffins have emerged from their smoke filled labs with an idea that involves filtering the EEG data so it separates cognitive information from dross.

Microsoft hopes that it can use the data to develop better interfaces which are more in tune with what the user's brain wants.

Of course it might also mean that it discovers that its software is unpopular right to the back of someone's brain stem.

Oh no...

I hope this will be a read-only device. If not, we're all doomed.

Magnetic Fields & Vision.

In R.O.T.C. @ ASU Plastering Aluminum Foil on Windows was last reosrt to telephone listening. "WRITE IT DON'T SAY IT". tHAT HAD MIGRATED FROM JUST TELEPHONE listening LINK TO ALSO OUTSIDE BUILDING SOURCE OF SNOOPING IN ON OUR Dorm With Microwaves?. However, by 1970 it became apparent older B/W household current Magnetic Snooping was going Color, as in Radio Shak like devices, that are no longer sold, as there is Privacy issue.

All of that is outside ones noggin', yet since Great War, Million Watt ant, so powerful that moderate magnetic or microwave strength create thought inside your head at low? KHz frequencies was countered by Metal Helmets. Now I believe/ as in using low power Radio to transmitt from much closer 20 feet thru wall is about same effect, you are tuner, that weaker field is then platform for mind reading, as half of what you think your thinking is actually what you are being made to think

There is even, I Believe, way at very close range & very controled silvered, grey or mirror, pale? screen like enviorment used with microwaves of unique focus into Brains to see as in video, or add to existing visual information, then nest step is as thru eyes. are your eyes & what you see is being transmitted by flowing electronic beacon that has some sort of ability to decypher, comunicate & send from you? feelings & verbal thought?

RUBISH, I Say.Your Mind BEETEN at 40 GHZ.Rubie Gold on Hand Held Firing line, Connect 4,000 Monks to one&same line w/ 4,000 Monkees & find out differences in their Heads.Be Practical Man.. You Can Read Minds, Yet Its' Erie.

psychic attack

So does that mean it will send a little error message back to Vole HQ everytime I have a fit at their operating system.

Can it tell which morale boosting swear words I am thinking of?

Will it compose a suitable message to reflect my thoughts... ?

Now what could possibly go wrong with that ?

(Excluding the psychic DOS attack that would ensue as many millions of users curse the inventors of their operating system online, followed by cursing the very same inventors of the little OK dialogue box and cursing of the curses dictionary etc etc etc ! Ad nauseam per extrawibble meltdown.)

MindDrive?

About, oh, what is it now, 10 years? 11? A product came out called 'MindDrive', if you do some Googling, you can get some information about it, basically did the same thing.

I do not know what happened to them or why their product seems to have just died, my guess is it never worked that great, but, perhaps the company just lacked the steam to push it.

What I do know, is that being able to compose music without having to play my keyboard would be amazing, the hardest thing for me as a musician/producer is to put down what's in my head into Cubase. MindDrive apparently had a 'MindMusic' program but, I never got a chance to even try the MindDrive..

They are not the only ones, 'cause there's also...

Well, Project Epoc from Emotiv has been around for quite a long time (check out www.emotiv.com).

Another alternative that has been around for some time is the NeuroSky product (can be found at www.neurosky.com).

And Smart Brain Games also offers something similar...their site is at:
