Buy a graphics card, get a motherboard

TBREAK checks the geekenthusiast's favourite hard disk drive, the WD Raptor X. This baby comes with 16MB cache, a SATA interface, NCQ and a 10Krpm spin speed. Tbreak also has a small video of the drive in action. Although it has a rather small capacity of 150GB - for its price, it still commands a lot of respect. In the benchmarks, it is compared to the previous 74GB Raptor and to an 80GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9. The winner leaves no doubt.

Gamepyre has a look at the EVGA 6800GS C/O Superclocked Edition video card. EVGA offers a unique trade-in programme, lifetime warrranty and 24/7 support freephone. Gamepyre reviews the EVGA card both in single and SLI mode. It is the highest 6800GS currently available on the market and putting two of them in tandem beats a 7800GTX easily. Now some e-tailers are apparently even offering a free motherboard when you buy that card.

Thetechzone figures out how to build a WiMAX network right here right now. But re-reading it brought nothing new to me. It is actually more like an introduction to the WiMAX technology which is due to take off really this year with Intel backing this - and Wireless USB like there's no tomorrow.

Digitalgrabber tests the Black Motorola Razr V3 phone. Motorola has had an excellent product with the Razr. Stylish, compact, not too small or not too big, good autonomy both in talk and stand by but you won't buy it for its memory - 5.5MB with no expansion slots. Shame because it has a rather large colour screen and its audio qualities are quite good.

ITreviews has a review of Corel's Latest graphic software, the X3, a would be Corel Draw 13 suite. It includes Draw itself, then Photopaint, Corel Capture and some other nifty applications. A too-small review for such a huge application which comprises both a vector and a bitmap application. There have been 40 improvements to the previous version - which can be had of the cheap if you are a student/teacher. Download the trial and have a try.

ExtremeMHZ plays with the VL system M-play 202 plus media center VFD. It is a Vacuum Fluo Display, which is basically a very posh way to get information displayed on your computer tower. You get a 5.25-inch bay, a remote control and some accessories to make your computer look cool. There are some issues but the low cost takes care of it and the remote control is so friendly that you have to go for it. µ

PS: Has anyone tried a 478-pin Pentium M processor - 1.4GHz, 400MHz FSB, 1MB cache, 0.13m, on a normal socket 478 motherboard out there? Please let me know.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
