Sapphire has a jewel in its RV570 crown

CES 007 Dual bridge me don't get shot in Crossfiah
Wednesday, 10 January 2007, 21:51
SAPPHIRE finished its first dual Crossfire card on a single printed circuit board (PCB). The card has a bridge chip and makes two components work together.

Both chips are clocked at 580MHz and we are talking about two RV570 chips with 36 "shaders" each. The card has 2 x 512 MB of memory working at 1400 MHz and we seen it in action running the 3Dmark.

We haven't seen the scores as the driver is unready, but the card should get to sample stage by February time. It has a dual Crossfire internal connector, so you should be able to stitch two of these cards together making the quad work. Hopefully.

We have a few pictures for you and we have to say that it has a dual power connector, a massive but a quiet cooler and that it's as long as 8800 GTX. It also has four display outs, two DVI and two VGA ones. ยต
