MOMENTOUS NEWS for journalists, PRs and others in the tech media bubble: The World’s Leading is back.
TWL attracted a keen audience last year with a blog that reported and commented on goings on in the tech media, without any of the pussyfooting around and fear of giving offence that too often accompanies the industry insiders’ navel gazers.
The only problem is that the site tended to have a pop at journalists as well as everybody else, and journalists tend to be very sensitive about people poking into their business. There’s a word for that, and the word is hypocrisy.
The blog folded for a common technical reason - the anonymous founders couldn’t be bothered to update it. We know how you feel. About three times a day, we know how you feel.
Anyhow, it’s back, this time in the clothing of a social network format on
Ning. It’s almost as naked as a new-born babe for now but once it settles in, it
should be an excellent read for those inside the biz and outsiders who want to
understand how tech news is processed, wrapped up and parcelled out for public
consumption. µ
