Yes Men's Vivoleum.com was cut off by Broadview Networks who demanded that the Yes Men remove all mention of Exxon from TheYesMen.org site before they'd restore the site's email.
Yes Men believe that the only thing that would motivate Broadview to act in that way is if Exxon Mobile had rung them personally.
While oil barons are not renowned for their sense of humour, the Yes Men think they might have stumbled across a real story here.
"Since parody is protected under US law, Exxon must think that people seeing the site will think Vivoleum's a real Exxon product," a spokes YesMan said.
The site is now up again.
