A TEENAGE BOY has been handed an Asbo for comments posted online.
The teen, who lives in Norfolk, which should be seen as a mitigating circumstance, wrote a few posts on Bebo where he also attached pictures of drug taking. He also said a few nasty things about her Majesty's loyal police force.
PC Tim Chapman, of Norfolk Police told the local press that the comments on the website demonstrated the chap's attitude towards offending the community and the police.
So inspector Knacker swooped on the kid like a ton of bricks. District Judge Philip Browning at Norwich Youth Court banned him from using the Internet to publish material that "promotes criminal activity" for two years.
The teen admitted nicking a motor and possessing cannabis but since these were proper offences not just talk, it seems the authorities were less interested. The plod said the Internet abuse was "pivotal" to the case.
It seems that in Blighty talking in a positive light about crime is promoting criminal activity. As is writing poetry. That Robin Hood should certainly be banned from our televisions and bookshelves. ยต
Thank Christ I don't write Inq headlines for a living.
I kept misreading Asob as Aibo.
I reread this twice trying to figure out where Sony's robotic dog came into play, and why police would give it to him...
"District Judge Philip Browning at Norwich Youth Court banned him from using the Internet to publish material that "promotes criminal activity" for two years"

So using the internet to promote criminal activity isn't illegal unless you get banned by a Judge?

BRB...
so its ok for tabloids and broadsheets to write acres of space on moss, doherty, winehouse etc and basically big up their rock n roll lifestyle?

Bloody double standards.
...if you're going to post articles that could be interpreted as being critical of the police - it's promoting crime, don't ya know.
Ever since Americans re-invented civilization, law, religion, and the Internet, more and more rights have disappeared than political dissidents in Siberia. The War Of Terrorism will continue until morale improves.

Witness H.R. 1955, AKA the "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007"

The elite members of the Untied States
House of Representatives voted 404 to 6
in favor of the "Thought Crimes Act".

If they thought it was a good idea, we had
better agree with them OR ELSE.
