He's never run a division of Lucent

FORMER BUSINESS COLLEAGUES of Walter Hewlett, the man castigated by HP CEO Carly Fiorina and her board as a "musician and an academic", have sprung to his defence.

Walter Hewlett is not a mammoth frozen in time, a report on CBS Marketwatch said, quoting directors at Agilent, which HP spun off a while ago.

In fact, directors at Agilent say Mr Hewlett was active in the discussions and takes a keen interest in technology.

Here's a few other things Walter isn't, according to Agilent directors quoted by CBS. He's not a weak link. He's not a weak board member. He hasn't run a division of Lucent. He never talks about how great HP used to be. He doesn't talk about his father. He isn't a stumbling block when decisions need taking.

What else isn't he? Go here. µ
