MSI unveiled its P6N Diamond (Nvidia 680i chipset) and P6N SLI Platinum (Nvidia 650i chipset) motherboards which are both Vista Premium certified and both support the new quad core QX6700 processor from Intel.
The P6N SLI Platinum supports 1333MHz FSBs and 1000MHz DDR2, with the Diamond supporting 1066MHz FSB and 800MHz DDR2 - but MSI states they both provide overclocking support up to a 2000MHz FSB and 1200MHz DDR2.
The P6N SLI Platinum allows for two 8x PCI-E or one 16x, whereas the Diamond caters for the full amount of PCI-E slots allowed by the 680i, containing two 16x for SLI and one 8x expected to be utilised for GPU physics support.
Both come with eSATA support.
The top of the range P6N Diamond supports contains a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio for 7.1 surround sound, with full THX certification, and Dolby Digital EX/DTS-ES support.
Here's a sneak peak of what the P6N SLI should look like once out in retail:
They should both appear sometime in December.
Something tells us something isn't quite right with MSI's press release though. The statement states that three motherboards are to be released and only two are mentioned - we're awaiting an update from MSI. ยต
