Foxconn to enter the graphics business in August

Nvidia cards on the way
Tuesday, 13 June 2006, 12:04
MIGHTY Foxconn is getting serious about its graphic market channel plans. It won't use the Winfast brand name anymore and it will return this well know brand to its daughter company Leadtek.

Leadtek plans to stay in the graphic business and will continue making and selling the graphic cards. So the mother will step of the daughter fingers and starts fighting for the same market, now that is the parents love.

The company representatives confirmed that the company plans to reveal a bunch of Nvidia cards in August timeframe. They might just be there for back to school but I think you have to be faster than that to get to the retail chains on time. Etail cards just might make it.

The company is committed to make ATI cards as well but those will come at later date. In a few months time they plan to have top to bottom cards and they plan to make and sell everything from the low end 7300 till the 7950 GX2 and later G80s.

It will certainly take Foxconn time to get the business on its feet but they are the fearsome competition. Watch out for them at the end of the summer. ยต
