BFG water-cools Geforce 8800 GTX

Stock speed, but ready for overclocking
Tuesday, 14 November 2006, 18:24
WE LEARNED that BFG expects its first batch of Geforce 8800 GTX cards that sport a water cooler any day now.

The company decided to use Danger Den's water cooler and wants to sell you a card without a radiator or a pump. You will have to use your existing water cooling setup, or or get one, in order to make it work.

The end user will be able to choose between 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" inner diameter tube fittings to find a fit for their water-cooled system. So you should be able to connect it to just about anything.

It is a single-slot card but the rest of the water cooling kit takes some space. You can happily overclock this card but it will come at the stock 575MHz clock speed. You should be able to crank that up a fair bit.

Best of all, you get a lifetime warranty and free 24/7/365 Technical Support from Danger Den and BFG Technologies.

The card only(!) costs $799 in the US or £587.49 at new overclockers web page in Britland. Interestingly, the card seems to have already sold out the UK. We heard that samples should follow quite soon.

We still have to investigate how high we can push G80 from its 575/1800 clock. µ
