Computer says sorry to dead Canadians

They are all heart

A COMPUTER generated letter is at the centre of a storm about how long Canadians are waiting for heart treatment.

Moncton Hospital sent out a computer generated letter to a New Brunswick heart patient in need of an electrocardiogram.

Then it ended with the caring and sensitive phrase "If the person named on this computer-generated letter is deceased, please accept our sincere apologies."

In this case the patent was not yet pushing up Canadian daisies and showed it to his doctor who showed it to Associated Press.

Canadians are getting fed up with paying for national health insurance and yet when they try to get it, it is not available.

Although many Canadian hospitals have upgraded their computer systems to handle waiting list delays, the automatic approach seems to be miffing Canadians even more.
