Jamiroquai plays for Intel

Virtualisation insanity
Friday, 24 November 2006, 12:08
INTEL HAS had a long attachment to the Blue Man Group, a musical ensemble that uses face paint as its commercial USP. But it seems that its head has been turned by Jay Kay, the diminutive, pugilistic, hat-fancying singer for Jamiroquai.

If you haven't already noticed then you shortly will notice that Intel has co-opted the elfin funk shouter to promote Core 2 Duo chips. The deal will run until 31 December and will result in print, online and “outdoor” (bill posters? side of cabs?) coverage.

But the connection is already bearing fruit. Last Saturday, the singer appeared at a PC World store in London “to promote the ‘Multiply Your Jamiroquai' association between the band, Intel and PC World”.

A competition, here promises prizes including a “motorsport experience with Jay”. ยต
