A REPORT SAID Foxconn, another name for large Taiwan manufacturer Hon Hai, has received a total of 60,000 Power PC 970 chips from Apple.

The report, on Looprumors, said that of those, 20,000 were 1.4GHz PPC 970s while 40,000 are 1.6GHz.

Further revs of this chip, the site said, include 2GHz parts which are likely to be around in mid-June.

And the same site said that the PPC 970 will fly at 2.3GHz and 2.5GHz by the end of the year.

You can find that story here. µ
