GRAPHICS CARD firms have told Digitimes that Nvidia is planning to launch the GeForce 9600 GSO GPU in May.

According to the un-named sources, the GeForce 9600 GSO is based on the G92 GPU which costs the board-makers about US$50-55 a pop. This puts it in the mid range where it will go up against the AMD's Radeon HD 3830.

The G92 will also undergo a die shrink from 65nm to 55nm in July, the same sources seem to have said. µ
