Intel prepares to kill off the Pentium 4

INTEL PLANS to kill off all Pentium processors in 2007. Lets start with Celerons. Celeron D 355, 351 346 and 326 will die in Q1 2007, February to be precise. Celeron D 336 and 331 have Product Discontinuance Notice status as of May and they should disappear shortly thereafter.

Intel Pentium 4 524 and 521 are to die in February too. The 541 can live on until April while 670, 660, 650, 640, 630 already have Product Discontinuance Notice status with end of life planned for March 2007. Pentium 4 661, 641, 631 will receive Product Discontinuance Notice in April and end of life will follow shortly after that.

Intel Pentium D, the dual core babies won't last long either. Pentium D 820 dies in February while 935, 915 will stay around till May when they are planned for Product Discontinuance Notice. Intel wants to get rid of these old 90 nanometer CPUs as soon as it can. µ
