Toronto politicians ban Facebook

Unless you are a politician
Fri May 11 2007, 08:33
THE POLITICIANS of the City of Toronto have voted to ban their employees from using the social networking site Facebook on work computers.

The ban will block the City's 23,000 employees from logging onto the site from their work computers, not that there is any evidence that they have been doing so.

A city spokesman Brad Ross said that to mitigate any possibility workers might have a look at Facebook the council has denied access.

Politicians, however, are exempt from the ban because they use Facebook to communicate with their constituents, Ross said.

Apparently, meeting with constituents on Facebook is a common thing, particularly if the politicians need to meet with 'hot' women who are looking for a 'white knight' to rescue them from trouble and show them 'real love'.
