Iraq goes for sale on eBay

Updated Attracts $31 $99,999,966 so far
Friday, 31 January 2003, 16:08
THE STATE OF IRAQ complete with oil fields, palms, Saddam Hussein and the rest has gone for sale on eBay - perhaps in somewhat questionable taste.

The current bid is $31 with 16 people having bid for the country so far.*

The sale describes it as having the world's "biggest sandbox", millions of relieved citizens, and more attention from George W. Bush and Bill Clinton than any citizen could ever want.

The price includes hundreds of presidential palaces and the oil fields.

It's here.

The buyer pays all shipping costs. µ

* NOTE THAT THE bids now stand much higher. The vendor has to remember that he or she has to pay eBay's commission at the end of the auction, which now amounts to a cool $1.5 million. As the vendor rules, here, clearly say.
