DAAMIT's RV610 and RV630 still on schedule

May announcement

DESPITE the delay to its flagship R600, ATI's mainstream and entry-level cards are still scheduled for late Q2.

It looks like the R600 will now be aligned for a simultaneous launch in May. ATI might decide to launch the R600 even sooner as we don't think a hardware bug delayed the chip.

The RV630, Radeon X2600 and R610, Radeon X2300 have the same marchitectural bones as the R600 but these two chips are made in 65 nanometre, not in 80nm like the R600. At this point it doesn't look like that 65 nanometre parts are going to be pushed back.

Nvidia should announce its G86 and G84, entry level and mainstream chips before May and DAAMIT might have just enough time to adjust its clocks. Nvidia really looks good at the moment, and DAAMIT needs to win this one, now more then ever. µ
