Leopard may still be on track for Spring

Rumours of a limp leopard launch disputed
Wednesday, 28 March 2007, 12:40
WHILE THERE ARE rumours that Apple might not be able to deliver its new Leopard operating system on time, some analysts are claiming that it will appear in Spring as planned.

American Technology Research Analyst Shaw Wu told investors that recent reports that Leopard may be delayed, possibly until October, were 'overdone'.

He reminded everyone that Spring was from around March 20 to June 20 every year, and so there are still nearly three months left for Leopard to appear.

Wu cited sources that Apple's latest beta build has made noticeable improvements in stability and functionality from previous builds. However he said that Apple was one or two builds away from reaching "final candidate" stage to be released for manufacturing.

Earlier this week Jupiter Research analyst Michael Gartenberg said that he had words with the nice people at Apple and they told him it was on schedule for spring too.

Quite how Apple expects to get two builds out and tested and in the shops in three months is anyone's guess. ยต
