Tiny blighters, these ones

TRANSCEND INFORMATION has announced its new portable hard disk system, the Slimline Compact StoreJet 2.5.

The StoreJet 2.5 is a tiny blighter, being only 129mm x 79.9mm x 13mm in size: about the same size as a wallet but supposedly as thin as a ballpoint pen. The plug and play devices can be used with just about any desktop or notebook computer, and does support USB 2.0 for those of you after faster transfer speeds.

The kit can be bought in 40GB and 80GB capacities, though if you wish to fit your own 2.5-inch drive you can buy the kit as a case alone, and is able to fit a hard drive as large as 160GB in capacity. More importantly, it comes in three different colours.

If you're after a 40GB StoreJet, that'll cost you 130 euros, while an 80GB will set you back 186 euros. The empty cases cost 27 euros.

More information about the StoreJet can be found at the Transcend website. µ
