Wed Jan 29 2003, 08:24
The-grumpy-queen SILICON LIFEFORM Deep Junior recovered from its philosophical musings in the second of six chess games against humanoid Garry Kasparov yesterday and held him to a draw in yesterday.

Two days back, Kasparov thrashed the Deep Junior computer and forced it to stop for 25 minutes to consider the philosophical limitations of life, the universe and anything.

In game two, reports the World Chess Federation, Deep Junior forced Kasparov to play the Sicilian Defence, Paulsen System, rather than his normal Najdorf.

The game ended in a fighting draw.

The next chess game starts tomorrow at 20:30 GMT.
