LG patents MP3-playing washing machine

Whiter shade of pale

ELECTRONICS GIANT LG must expect to flog its patented MP3-playing washing machines by the truckload.

Shurely washerwomen everywhere will be salivating over the prospect of squashing their skiddy undies into the hatch while loading up the flash with hip-twisting tunes.

What bliss to have the sound of the spinner drowned out by the sound of the Spinners.

LG boffins came up with the idea a while ago. You can just visualise the white-coated technicians sitting down amongst the super computers poring over elaborate print-outs until one - the brightest spark, natch - suddenly fell from his stool in a Eureka moment.

If you have a stupid idea, you too could patent it and wait until it comes to pass. No need to even bother building it.

You can view LG's freshly-published patent application here.
