Here comes Tamagotchi, the movie

Ten years in the hatching

WHEN TECHNOLOGY meets Hollywood, the intersection is usually marked Crapola Corner so don't build your hopes up too much for Tamagotchi: The Movie.

According to a Reuters correspondent, possibly the same that brought us Usherettes in night-goggles stage pirate-hunt stunt, the virtual pets that hatched a decade ago are to be the subject of a forthcoming film.

Compelling subject matter, interesting plot development and fascinating characterisation are all likely to be missing from the production. Even the keyfob-widget craze itself lasted only a short spell so it's hard to see the appeal of this opus but nobody ever went bust underestimating the public so what do we know?

However, it does make us think of other cinematic potatoes featuring computing so stay tuned for later in the day when we publish the director's cut of The Inquirer Top However-many Tech-heavy Movies. µ
