Of course they were peddling Blu-ray drives and we heard that a 2X Blu-ray drive has been available since October 2006. It sells for around 800 and it can record at 2X only. The good point is that it can record 50GB discs at this speed.
Sony is working on a 4X drive and it will introduce it later this year. It will be able to record 50GB dual layer drivers at this speed.
The firm also plans to introduce a successor to its AW-G170A 18X DVD recorder and the new one will support the Lightscribe marchitecture.
Funnily enough, the Sony lads reckon Blu-ray is about to take off with Playstation 3.
